RenegadeX server LAUNCHED!

Posted on 30 Sep 2009 by EvilWhiteDragon
Today RenegadeX will be released. Will be because currently it is not officially released. Unofficially it can be found on various locations as MiniNova and fileplanet. For clanmembers see the topic in the private forums.

Anyway, more ontopic, we have managed to get our UT3 server to run RenegadeX and are inviting you to join it! We're the first server to support the mod unofficially, and we're not sure if everything is setup right just yet, there might be some bugs yet, if you encounter one please tell us as soon as possible. You can direct connect on our server with the address:
87.253.133.61:7777

We hope you'll have a good time on the first OPEN RenegadeX server!

New Inter-Clan Wars

Posted on 23 Sep 2009 by Gwynzer
As some of the First Strike members may have noticed, BlackIntel will now be hosting First Strikes official Inter-Clan Wars. These events are similar to the Internal Clan Wars we participated in with our partner community, TheKoss2, but are on a much bigger scale. Check out the I-CW part of the First Strike section of our site for more details!

Server maintenance done!

Posted on 22 Sep 2009 by EvilWhiteDragon
As you might have noticed the website and all of the BlackIntel services where down for a little moment. This was because we had for like 3 months worth of windows updates to install.
To do this we had to shut down the server and reboot it twice. Now it is done and hopefully we don't need to reboot it any time soon again ;)

Our Renegade server is now GameSpy enabled, and Direct Connect is now public. Hopefully, this will get us some more players. You can connect through GSA the normal way, or direct connect through this IP and Port:

Enjoy, and bring your friends that don't have an XWIS account!

Server maintenance live updates

Posted on 23 May 2009 by GhostShaw
Hey there guys, typing from EWD's (well his dads anyway) car here. I will be updating this post with news as we go along.

09:02 We left at EWD's home for the shop where we bought the Q6700
10:10 We now have the CPU from the shop and are heading for Amsterdam
11:11 Due to heavy traffic (and annoying 45 KM cars) we will probably be arriving a little later then planned at the datacenter
12:01 We arrived at the data center and are logged in (fingerprints ZOMG). We will take the server down in a few minutes and start the maintenance.
12:32 The CPU has bee n replaced and tested. We also checked which of the SCSI disks was broken and are replacing it now.
13:07 It appears as though our spare HDD is also busted and we diagnosed the wrong HDD asbeing broken. So removing the broken HDD's and reattaching the good one.
14:40 We are moving the windows partition to the new SATA 400 GB disk since its most likely more reliable and almost twice as fast. This is nearly done and also the last thing that needs doing.
17:40 Finally finished pff, we had to go get a new cooler really quick cause (unlike the shop said) the old one wasn't good enough. We also totally updated windows. We now just need to move a few files over from one HDD to another, excute some other updates and everything will be back online.
19:46 Yay completely done.

Sever upgrade/maintenance (Saturday, 23 May 2009)

Posted on 21 May 2009 by EvilWhiteDragon
As you might have read, we are going to upgrade our server to have a Core 2 Quad instead of a Core 2 Duo. Our current Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 GHz) to a Core 2 Quad Q6700 (2,66 GHz).
We are also going to add in a "new" used 400 GB disk for more storage and try to get an old SCSI disk back to work so that we will once again have three SCSI disks.
This maintenance is planned for Saturday, 23 May 2009.

We are leaving at 9 AM CEST from our parents' houses, to arrive at 10 AM at the shop which sells the CPU. We expect to arrive at the data center by 11:30 AM, at which we will shut the server down and start the maintenance. We do not know when it will be done, but expect at least a few hours downtime. If we run into unforeseen problems, it may happen that we will be unable to complete maintenance on Saturday, in which case it will remain down until Sunday.

We will post live updates at TheKOSs2 forums!

New site launched!

Posted on 01 May 2009 by EvilWhiteDragon
It took us quite some time, but today we finally launched our new website. As you can see we have basicly redone most of the information on our site, or gave it a new place.

Because we now host more games than just C&C Renegade we needed to create a logical way to categorize these games. This has now been done, and we directly took the opertunity to change the websites appearance. We though that the graphics needed an update as well, because the C&C3 concept art was always a bit odd at an C&C Renegade site ;)

We made a banner that contains images of all three games we host, being C&C Renegade, Unreal Tournament 3 and Battlefield 2142 mod: First Strike. As you can see we did empathize on the Renegade mammoth a little bit, this because we think it is important to remind us of the game it all started with.

Hope you'll enjoy the new site!

BlackIntel has expanded their server range as well as their clan to also include the Battlefield 2142 mod First Strike, a Star Wars conversion of BF2142.

The head of the First Strike division will be Gwynzer, who already knows a lot about the game.

Head of UT3 division found

DHDC has been appointed as head of the BlackIntel Unreal Tournament 3 clan division.

DHDC's role will be to organize the ingame stuff, while he will have more of an assistant clan leader role on the outside - Unreal Tournament 3-wise, that is.

We at BlackIntel wish DHDC the best of luck!
