As you might have read, we are going to upgrade our server to have a Core 2 Quad instead of a Core 2 Duo. Our current Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.8 GHz) to a Core 2 Quad Q6700 (2,66 GHz).
We are also going to add in a "new" used 400 GB disk for more storage and try to get an old SCSI disk back to work so that we will once again have three SCSI disks.
This maintenance is planned for Saturday, 23 May 2009.

We are leaving at 9 AM CEST from our parents' houses, to arrive at 10 AM at the shop which sells the CPU. We expect to arrive at the data center by 11:30 AM, at which we will shut the server down and start the maintenance. We do not know when it will be done, but expect at least a few hours downtime. If we run into unforeseen problems, it may happen that we will be unable to complete maintenance on Saturday, in which case it will remain down until Sunday.

It took us quite some time, but today we finally launched our new website. As you can see we have basicly redone most of the information on our site, or gave it a new place.

Because we now host more games than just C&C Renegade we needed to create a logical way to categorize these games. This has now been done, and we directly took the opertunity to change the websites appearance. We though that the graphics needed an update as well, because the C&C3 concept art was always a bit odd at an C&C Renegade site ;)

We made a banner that contains images of all three games we host, being C&C Renegade, Unreal Tournament 3 and Battlefield 2142 mod: First Strike. As you can see we did empathize on the Renegade mammoth a little bit, this because we think it is important to remind us of the game it all started with.

BlackIntel has expanded their server range as well as their clan to also include the Battlefield 2142 mod First Strike, a Star Wars conversion of BF2142.

The head of the First Strike division will be Gwynzer, who already knows a lot about the game.

DHDC has been appointed as head of the BlackIntel Unreal Tournament 3 clan division.

DHDC's role will be to organize the ingame stuff, while he will have more of an assistant clan leader role on the outside - Unreal Tournament 3-wise, that is.

This is for several reasons, among which the intended possibility of getting a Renegade X server and to boost the popularity of BlackIntel.

The KOSs2 and BlackIntel are proud to announce we will be merging our public AOW servers into one merged server that will include both KOSs2 style and BlackIntel style maps in the same rotation!

The launch is previewed for 23/12/08, around 8 PM UK time and we hope to see many players to check out this unique Renegade server!

Server merge

The idea

The idea is to merge our servers and keep everyone happy regarding playing style and create more diversification.

Three maps out of six will be TK2-style (no start creds, no vehicle wrecks, no special crates, no !bh command, ... : just like we have it now on the TK2 server) and three will be BI-style (with all the "mods" and special commands they currently have on their server). At the start of a style changing map, a F2 and PM message will inform the players of the changing in gaming style.

The ranking system that's currently in place on the TK2 server, which includes a monthly reset, will stay in place so there's a challenge for everyone.

New rules:

We don't allow: cheats, advantage skins, tunnel beacons, ob glitching, vehicles in buildings, flaming vehicles, teamhampering, bad swearing. Respect other players. Speak English.

Since the server crash occurred the website has been lacking some new information, as well as "old" information was back.

So I asked StealthEye whether I could be of any assistance in updating the website and the news here, and, well, apparently it was greatly appreciated because no later than StealthEye and I had logged off the server I got access to edit and post news, as well as edit the main site.

So I hope I won't let you guys down; both administrators as well as server users, coders, and clan members.
