BF:Bad Company 2 Tips & Tricks
Everything from mapbusting strategies and tiny little things you can do to make your game easier.
General tips for everyone
Covering fire. If you see allies attempting to flank the enemy, use covering fire. You don't have to hit, you just have to keep the enemy focused on you. It's EXTREMELY helpful for the flankers. Shoot the SAME target, especially when attacking armour. A Damaged tank does the same amount of damage as a fully healed tank, take down the lowest health target FIRST to decrease the damage done to YOU.
Sticking with your squad is always good. You help them and they help you with UAV, Health, Ammo and Fire support.
Communication. Use the spotted command before shooting enemies (Q!). If you miss, your allies may be able to kill the enemy if they hide behind a spot you can't reach them.
If you're in a full squad that actually works together, stay back a bit on a high position with a good view of them and help the by spotting enemies and kill the ones that are either flanking or already shooting at the squad.
If you want to take down a helicopter pilot, remember that you don't have to shoot through the glass, you can also shoot through the armor in the front.

Medkit down, then shoot. Especially if you are working with teammates or the enemy hasn't yet seen you.
Kill then revive, unless your teammate specifically asks you to and you can do it while staying alive yourself. Concentrate on Squaddies first, because you get more points for that, and they are usually more important.
Engineer
At first, it looks like placed tracer darts don't work and your rockets don't home in. in order to get your rockets to "lock", you first have to aim at the enemy until the distance marker comes up. Once you've done that, you can look in any direction and fire and the rocket will weave it's way towards the target. It doesn't have the best homing ability, but it's pretty good for firing over cover or around walls.
Recon
Motion Mines! Deploy mines whenever assaulting a flag/MCOM Station.
Aim up. The Further away your target is, the more your bullet drops. This is only true for the Sniper and Rocket Launchers, you can hit your target from across the map by aiming straight at the enemy with a pistol. Be careful to adjust to the zoom scopes when sniping long distance targets so you're not over/under compensating gravity.
The Gilly suit is surprisingly effective to use for hiding in bushes. Often, if you can't see the enemy, they can't see you either. Try hiding behind a bush at a popular infantry route and wait for enemies to run past, then you can get them all from behind.
If you unlock the GOL magnum sniper rifle, use this, it has the longest range before the bullets drop so you can stay out of range of the enemy and still get easy headshot without aiming up alot to get the target. Even if you get the M95 rifle, the GOL is more accurate and has longer range, the extra damage the M95 has doesn't make a bodyshot a 1-hit kill so you still have to go for a headshot. The range of the GOL combined with the 12x scope makes is really easy for very long range kills, just practice the gravity drop with this rifle and you'll be deadly in no time.
Assault
Throw down your ammo! Any time you see stationary soldiers, throw it down.
